# Raycast AI

To connect Flyweel MCP to **Raycast AI** (Pro), open **Extensions, then MCP Servers, then Add**, and configure a remote HTTP server pointing at `https://api.flyweel.co/functions/v1/mcp-server/mcp` with an `X-API-Key` header. Raycast AI then calls Flyweel tools inline as part of any AI command.

 - Raycast Pro (free tier does not support MCP)
 - macOS 12 or later

## Step 1: Get your API token[Link to this section](#step-1-get-your-api-token)

 1. Go to [app.flyweel.co](https://app.flyweel.co)
 1. Open **Settings → API & MCP**
 1. Under **Advanced: use an API key instead**, click **Generate API key** (or **Create Token** to name your own)
 1. Copy the `fwl_…` key once — it won’t be shown again

## Step 2: Open Raycast MCP settings[Link to this section](#step-2-open-raycast-mcp-settings)

 1. Open Raycast (`opt+space` by default)
 1. Type **Extensions**, then press enter
 1. Select the **MCP Servers** tab
 1. Click **Add**

## Step 3: Configure Flyweel[Link to this section](#step-3-configure-flyweel)

| **Name** | Flyweel |
| **Transport** | HTTP (streamable) |
| **URL** | `https://api.flyweel.co/functions/v1/mcp-server/mcp` |
| **Header name** | `X-API-Key` |
| **Header value** | `fwl_YOUR_TOKEN_HERE` |

Click **Save**.

Raycast stores MCP configuration in its user data (`~/Library/Application Support/com.raycast.macos`). You normally do not need to edit these files by hand.

Open Raycast’s **AI Chat**, enable the Flyweel tool if prompted, and ask:

## Troubleshooting[Link to this section](#troubleshooting)

### MCP Servers tab is missing[Link to this section](#mcp-servers-tab-is-missing)

Raycast is out of date or not on Pro.

**Fix:** Update Raycast and confirm your Pro subscription at raycast.com/account.

### ”Authentication error”[Link to this section](#authentication-error)

Token is invalid or revoked.

**Fix:** Regenerate at [app.flyweel.co](https://app.flyweel.co), then Settings → API & MCP.

### Tools do not appear in AI Chat[Link to this section](#tools-do-not-appear-in-ai-chat)

Raycast caches tool lists.

**Fix:** Disable and re-enable the Flyweel server in Extensions, then MCP Servers.
